Tasteful Table Catering is a full-service catering company specializing in weddings and special events. We are seeking a motivated Assistant Chef (Sous Chef level) to support our Executive Chef in delivering consistently high-quality food and memorable guest experiences.

Position Summary
The Assistant Chef supports the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, event execution, and post-event breakdown. This role plays a key part in maintaining food quality, presentation standards, and strict food safety compliance while working collaboratively with the kitchen and event teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with food preparation, cooking, and event execution
Support inventory management, including receiving, organizing, and tracking food and supplies
Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Assist with ordering, inventory control, and minimizing food waste
Enforce proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature controls
Maintain required food safety and sanitation logs
Communicate effectively with front-of-house and event staff to ensure smooth service timing
Assist with kitchen breakdown and clean-up following events
Qualifications
Basic cooking experience with a strong desire to learn and grow
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized procedures
Solid understanding of kitchen equipment and knife safety practices
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Reliable, punctual, and seeking a long-term position
Schedule & Compensation
Pay: $21.50 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday
Hours: Vary based on events and seasonality
