No, you don't have to offer a choice. Plenty of beautiful weddings serve one entrée. But two entrées make it easier to please a mixed crowd, and they change how dinner works. Here's how to think it through.
Prices are for weddings at Milton Ridge, based on a minimum of 45 guests, before tax and service charge.
With one entrée, guests who can't eat it still need a meal. We prepare special meals for dietary needs, so ask for vegetarian, vegan and allergy needs on your RSVP card and send us the names.
At a buffet, both entrées are out together, so guests can take one or try both. Nothing to collect in advance.
At a plated dinner, you have two ways to do it:
The duet plate is one of our favorite ways to serve two entrées. It gives guests the variety of a buffet with the polish of a plated dinner.
Choose two entrées that look and taste different, such as one rich and one bright, or one meat and one fish. Two similar cream-sauce chicken dishes feel like no choice at all.
Compare one and two entrées with your own guest count in the estimate tool, or browse every entrée.

Yes. Fish has become a popular wedding entrée, especially as a second choice next to chicken or beef. It feels lighter, it photographs beautifully on the plate, and here in Maryland it can tell a local story.
North Atlantic Salmon Filet, broiled, grilled or blackened to your preference and finished with lemon-herb butter.
Fish works either way. Salmon, cod and the seafood medleys hold well on a buffet. Delicate fish like halibut and sea bass shine when they're plated and served straight from the kitchen.
Love seafood but not sure about a fish entrée? Bring it into cocktail hour instead: Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab Dip is on the displayed list, and Premium couples can choose Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail or Petite Crab Balls.
See every seafood dish on our menus, or ask us which fish suits your date.

Pork is still served at weddings all the time, and it fits casual and formal menus alike. But it comes with more to think about than chicken, beef or fish. Here's an honest look.
So the question isn't really whether pork belongs at a wedding. It's whether pork suits your guests, and how to make sure everyone else still has a great meal.
Our Braised Collard Greens on the BBQ menu are made with smoked turkey, not pork, so they're a safe side for pork-free guests.

A signature drink is an easy way to make the bar feel personal. Give it a name that means something to you, print it on a small sign, and let the bartender do the rest. For spring, think fresh, bright and a little floral.
Every idea below is built from the spirits, mixers and garnishes already included in our bar packages. If you'd like something extra, such as fresh herbs, edible flowers or a specialty liqueur, ask us; pricing for substitutions depends on the request.
The Deluxe Bar includes Tito's Vodka, Tanqueray Gin, Bacardi White Rum, Jose Cuervo Tequila and more, with mixers like cranberry, orange, pineapple, lemon and lime juice, mojito mix, triple sec and simple syrup.
The Premium Bar adds Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire and more, plus ginger beer, mango margarita mix, blue curaçao, dry vermouth and bitters, with orange slices and maraschino cherries for garnish.
Champagne, Prosecco or sparkling wine is $36 per bottle. Plan on about one bottle for every five guests. With a Deluxe or Premium Bar, orange juice is already on the bar, so ask about mimosas for a spring brunch or garden reception.
Every guest at Milton Ridge has our non-alcoholic package: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Ginger Ale, plus freshly brewed lemonade or iced tea.
Keep it to one or two signature drinks. A short menu keeps the bar line moving during cocktail hour.
Bar packages are for weddings at Milton Ridge and are charged per guest 21 and over. See all four on our bar page, or price your bar in the estimate tool.

It's one of the first decisions you'll make about the reception, and it shapes everything after it: the floor plan, your RSVP card, the timeline and the budget. Here's how we help couples choose.
At Tasteful Table, plated service costs more per guest than a buffet because it takes more staff to serve every table at once. With our current menus for Milton Ridge weddings, the difference looks like this:
| Package | Buffet | Plated | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic (1 entrée) | $54.99 | $69.99 | +$15.00 |
| Standard (2 entrées, 1 hors d'oeuvre) | $68.99 | $78.99 | +$10.00 |
| Deluxe (2 entrées, 3 hors d'oeuvres) | $75.99 | $85.99 | +$10.00 |
| Premium (2 entrées, 3 hors d'oeuvres) | $94.99 | $104.99 | +$10.00 |
For 120 guests on the Deluxe package, plated adds $1,200 before tax and service charge. Prices are per guest, based on a minimum of 45 guests, and apply to events at Milton Ridge. Off-site events add 20% for transportation, travel time and additional staff.
Choosing plated with two entrées? Serve a duet plate with both entrées, or ask guests for their choice on the RSVP card and mark it on their escort card so servers know who ordered what.
Salads are served plated with the Premium Menu. For other menus they go on the buffet, and you can upgrade to a plated salad course for $5 per guest. It's an easy way to give a buffet dinner a seated, formal start.
There's no wrong answer. Use the estimate tool to compare both styles with your own guest count.

The bar is usually the second-largest line on a catering proposal, and also the one couples have the most questions about. Here's how our beverage packages work and how to choose the right one. These packages are for weddings at Milton Ridge; we don't provide beverages for off-site events.
At Milton Ridge, every guest receives our non-alcoholic package at $12.50 per person. It includes Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Ginger Ale, plus freshly brewed lemonade or iced tea. All of our beverage packages include stemmed glassware and a bartender for four hours, covering cocktail hour and the reception.
Alcohol packages are optional and priced per guest 21 and over, on top of the non-alcoholic package. All alcohol at Milton Ridge is provided and served by Tasteful Table.
| Package | Per guest 21+ | What's poured |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic Beer & Wine | $19.50 | Three beers from Miller Lite, Yuengling, Budweiser or Bud Light, and two house wines |
| Imported Beer & Wine | $25.50 | Five beers from Miller Lite, Yuengling, Heineken, Corona, Budweiser or Bud Light, and three house wines |
| Deluxe Bar | $27.50 | Domestic Beer & Wine, plus Tito's, Tanqueray, Dewar's, Jim Beam, Bacardi, Jose Cuervo and Canadian Club with a full set of mixers |
| Premium Bar | $32.50 | Imported Beer & Wine, plus Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, Wild Turkey 101, Jack Daniel's, Jameson, Crown Royal, Chivas Regal, Captain Morgan and 1800 Silver |
The jump from beer and wine to a full bar is smaller than most couples expect. Deluxe Bar adds seven spirits to Domestic Beer & Wine for $8 more per guest, and costs only $2 more than Imported Beer & Wine.
For 120 guests, 100 of them 21 or over, with Imported Beer & Wine:
Moving the same wedding to the Premium Bar adds $7 per guest 21 and over, or $700.
Champagne, Prosecco or sparkling wine is $36 per bottle, and sparkling cider is $12.50 per bottle. Plan on about one bottle for every five guests, so 120 guests need about 24 bottles, or $864 for champagne. If many guests don't drink, mix in cider. Sparkling wine is not part of the house wine selection, so order it separately.
Try different combinations in the estimate tool, then send us your numbers.
Wedding catering guide

Almost every wedding has guests who eat differently: vegetarians, a vegan cousin, a nut allergy at table six, or family members who keep halal or kosher. With a little planning, everyone gets a meal they can enjoy.
Add a line to your RSVP: "Please list any allergies or dietary needs." Be specific about what you're asking. "Vegetarian" and "no shellfish" are useful answers; "picky" is not. Send the list to your caterer with your final guest count, which is due three weeks before the wedding.
When one of your two entrées is vegetarian, most guests with dietary needs are covered automatically. Our Main Menu includes eight vegetarian entrées:
On the single-entrée Classic Menu, our Pasta Primavera is prepared vegan.
For guests whose needs aren't covered by the main menu, we prepare special meals. Give us names and table numbers so servers can bring each plate directly to the right person, even at a buffet.
Tasteful Table offers halal and kosher meat options. Let us know early in planning so we can source and prepare them properly.
Hors d'oeuvres are where guests with restrictions often go hungry. Balance your picks: Caprese Skewers, Spinach Spanakopita, Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip, Strawberry and Brie Bites and a Fresh Seasonal Fruit Display are all meat-free options alongside crowd favorites like Cheeseburger Sliders.
Many sides are naturally vegetarian: Grilled Asparagus with Roasted Red Pepper, Green Beans Almandine, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Jasmine Rice and more. A good side lineup means even a guest with a special meal can share the buffet.
At a plated wedding, mark special meals on escort cards with a small symbol. It's the simplest way to make sure the right plate lands in front of the right guest.
Questions about a specific allergy or diet? Tell us about your guests and we'll plan around them.

Cocktail hour happens while you're taking portraits, so it's the part of the reception you'll hear about rather than see. Good hors d'oeuvres keep guests happy and set the tone for dinner.
Our Standard package includes one hors d'oeuvre, and Deluxe and Premium each include three. With Premium, one selection can come from the premium list, which includes Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Petite Crab Balls and Mini Shrimp and Grits with Salsa Verde. Mini Lamb Lollipops and Bacon-Wrapped Sea Scallops are $4.50 more per guest.
Displayed pieces, like Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab Dip or a Gourmet Cheese display, give guests a place to gather and graze. Butler-passed bites, like Petite Chicken and Waffles or Teriyaki Beef Skewers, come to guests, which keeps the room moving and makes the hour feel special.
With Deluxe or Premium, our favorite approach is a mix: one displayed anchor and two passed bites. With Standard's single selection, a displayed piece feeds the most guests.
For a showpiece, add our Antipasto Display for $9.50 per guest: assorted meats and gourmet cheese with olive tapenade, kalamata and stuffed green olives, vegetables, French baguettes and crackers.
